Let everyone hear this great news about the Great God:
Jesus Christ is the All–Powerful Savior!
Every person who calls on him will be rescued.
Go and make disciples (Matthew 28:19).
With our annual Vacation Bible School starting up tomorrow, I (Pastor Matt) have asked Mary McCormack, head of Children’s Ministries, to share some vision about the program:
In a culture that is growing more secular each day, the fact that Vacation Bible School continues to have a major impact on children throughout the country and the world is astonishing. Three years ago, Becca Gater and I had the joy of running a VBS for refugee children in Istanbul. We witnessed the impact the simple format of music, drama, games, and crafts had to touch not only the children, but entire families for Jesus.
Tomorrow morning Stone Hill will open its doors to over 160 children, and we are anticipating that God will do some miraculous works. VBS is one of the biggest occasions in our church’s calendar where our whole congregation—from young teens to mature adults—works and serves side by side.
So many people put themselves at God’s disposal throughout this week. It is so encouraging to see such servant hearts!
And there are so many different ways in which people serve: from our crew and assistant crew leaders sharing the Gospel with their crews, to our station leaders presenting drama, games and more, to the afternoon team working until 5pm, all the way to the willing hands of our great kitchen staff.
For those of you who are on the church’s distribution list, please check your email throughout the week for prayer updates.
Thanks, Mary! I look forward to next Sunday, when we will, by God’s grace, have exciting stories to share!
