Remember what God has done for us in Jesus
Meet our current interns (two more Matts).
Matt Arildsen: I spent my childhood in Damascus, Maryland with my parents and younger brother. I grew up in the Christian Missionary Alliance, but attended a middle and high school run by the Presbyterian Church in America. After graduating from Wheaton College (IL), I worked in health software for two years, attending a PCA church in Madison, Wisconsin, before starting my MDiv at Princeton Theological Seminary. God has been leading me towards the study of the theological foundation of political and social ethics. In pursuit of this calling, I am hoping to work through a PhD in this area after completing my time at PTS. I’ve had a lot of fun and interesting opportunities during my internship, but I’ve particularly enjoyed meeting so many of the teachers, coordinators, and staff who help make Stone Hill and its ministries a productive part of God’s Kingdom.
Matt Rucker: I grew up in a loving, Christian household in Phoenix, Arizona where I also met my wonderful wife Madeline. Although I attended service every Sunday as I was growing up, my faith was not really my own until I was fifteen when God drew me nearer to Himself through the miraculous healing of my Grandmother, the encouragement I received to publicly affirm my faith in Confirmation, and the work of the Holy Spirit. I began to pray and read my Bible daily and grow in my confidence that God is real, loves me, and desires my exclusive obedience. Following high school, God led me to Biola University where I continued to be groomed for what I am now pursuing: Pastoral Ministry in the Anglican Church in North America. Stone Hill Church has been a wonderful place to serve as I have been able to affirm my vocational calling as a Pastor and teacher. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had at Stone Hill so far, but I above all I am grateful for God’s gracious guidance over Madeline and myself as we pursue a life of ministry together.
