Two “turning point” testimonies

Yvonne Clark: I remember growing up knowing about Jesus and attending church. I was like most people; I felt I was a good person since I never did anything really bad. Compared to those around me, I was great. It wasn't until God finally showed me the severity of my own sin a few years ago that I realized how broken I was. I was stuck in sin but God showed me the way out and loved me in spite of myself. One scripture that I held on to (and still do) during that time was Isaiah 40:29-31: He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. I'm eternally grateful for a loving Father who cared for and protected me. I see just how much I need Him and how much He loves and wants me as His child.

Barbara Hunt Caves: And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth.  The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him.  But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you (John 14: 16-17). Knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior happened in my late twenties.  It wasn’t a “fireworks” kind of conversion but profoundly enveloping.  He swept me off my feet; in an instant, everything changed.  I felt His love, forgiveness, and acceptance!  I wanted more of Him! The Word came alive.  When I read the verse cited above, it took my breath away!  I am so grateful the Father granted Jesus’ request and that the Holy Spirit lives in me.  He leads, heals, helps, comforts, convicts, and teaches me to reveal Jesus to the world, and to delight the Father with my response to Jesus’ love. Thank you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
