Psalm 123

Our God is Jehovah El Elyon, “Yahweh, God Most High.”

Bulletin for:
Sunday, March 3, 2019
Order of worship:
Pastor to People:

The Lord’s compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:21-24).

I am pleased to hand today’s column over to Jay and Erin Lee, members of our church. Erin recently started to serve as my Executive Assistant.

We met in our young adult's small group Bible study and were friends for about a year before we started dating. We got engaged nine months later and were married five months after that, in the spring of 2006.  This year we will celebrate our thirteenth anniversary!

Throughout that time we have faced our share of challenges, some typical and some less typical, that have tested our marriage and our faith.  Financial needs, job changes, housing, forming our family and raising children are all areas that have caused us to worry and look for our own ways of providing for ourselves.

Nearly three years ago, we needed to move closer to Jay’s new job in NYC, but finding housing that fit all of our family’s needs seemed daunting, and the schedule was tight. Yet the Lord provided! The first house we toured met each of those needs. We did not know of Stone Hill Church when we closed on our home, but the Lord did!

Even when we failed to look to God for provision, He was still faithful to us. He consistently shows us His covenant love, gently reminding us to ask Him for what we need and to wait on His timing. Over and over again the Lord showed us that His ways are higher than our ways and that He is able to provide in ways that we cannot even imagine. His plan is so much better than anything we could come up with!

As the two of us remember our Heavenly Father’s faithful provision for our family, we find hope for the future. We may not know what is coming down the road, but we know that as we trust Him more, He will not ever let us down. Pray that we would learn to look to God more quickly for provision every day, and that our hearts would rest peacefully in Him at all times.
