A great gospel promise:
By God’s great mercy, we are born again to a LIVING HOPE
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
A Youth Ministry Update from Pastor Bobby
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever (Ephesians 3:20–21).
It brings me great joy to serve the people of Stone Hill Church. I am daily humbled by the opportunity that God has set before me. The longer I serve at Stone Hill, the more my heart grows for this church and its surrounding community. I am continually taken aback by the charity of this church. Did you know that during this year’s VBS some 30 middle school and high school-aged volunteers used summer vacation to serve the next generation of the church? Awesome!
As the culture changes and our church grows, I am always looking for more effective ways to disciple the next generation well. Jesus Christ is our example at Stone Hill. What he demonstrated in his ministry is that fruitful discipleship is relational. As I think about that alongside my role here as youth pastor, I realize that there is no way for me to have deep discipleship relationships with all the youth in our church. But that in no way means that our church has to sacrifice relational discipleship. In fact, there are people in our congregation who are better fit to disciple some of the youth than I am. That is why we are launching our Contact Ministry this summer. The vision of the Contact Ministry is to pair every middle school and high school student at Stone Hill with a mature and trained adult leader who will contact that student twice a month. The contact leaders will work in cooperation with the students’ parents and our Youth Ministry to build relationships over time. Lord willing, these relationships will lead to faith-building relational discipleship.
[From Pastor Matt: I love this vision. Congregation, please pray for Bobby, for the Contact leaders, and church families as this vital ministry is launched.
