Comparing Today with Eternity

Jesus Christ is a new Passover:
As a lamb he has been sacrificed so as to
shield us from the impending judgment of God.

Dear Stone Hill Church Family,

In one week we begin to celebrate Easter week at Stone Hill. There will be a choir concert, a special Maundy Thursday service, a Good Friday extended time of worship and Easter services. This time of the year can sometimes surface spiritual interest and questions among our friends, co-workers, and neighbors. With that in mind let me encourage you to commit to three specific steps of action during this Easter season.

First, begin or continue to pray for those closest to you: friends,          co-workers, neighbors. Pray that God would bless them and reveal Himself to them. Pray that God would give you opportunities to share in a natural way how the Easter season (Christ’s resurrection) gives you hope, peace, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Oftentimes, we fail to share because we haven’t asked God to give us an opportunity and are not aware of how God is opening doors. I would love to pray with you for your friends, co-workers and neighbors. Feel free to send me the initials or first names of your friends and I will pray for you and for them. ( A number of us at Stone Hill would report that our journey of faith began when someone cared enough about us to pray for us.

Second, when appropriate, invite someone to one of the many Easter week events. If we truly believe that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the life-changing and life-giving center of our lives, it would be natural to invite someone to join us for any of our Easter events.

Third, two weeks after Easter we will host our Global Outreach Conference at Stone Hill (April 17–19). This weekend conference will provide us with some local opportunities to serve our community. This gives us more opportunity to be part of making our community a better place. This is part of the Easter message. God has come to redeem the world. And God wants us to be part of that redemptive plan.
In His Grace,
Tracy Troxel
