TGC Conference: Our Moment, Our Opportunity

Sounds like a dream come true, doesn’t it, this description of the Jerusalem church in its earliest days? Believers living in deep devotion to Christ and one another; friends and neighbors profoundly attracted by what they were seeing among the Christians; people and priest, cynics and sages, all kinds of people coming to faith in Christ as they connected the church with its gospel.

Wouldn’t it be incredible if the church in America—including Stone Hill—experienced a similar life and impact? Imagine this headline article in The Packet:

A Whole New Life

Not since the nineteenth century has Princeton seen anything like this! People in all walks of life are paying more attention to “evangelicals”—a term that used to be derogatory, but now, at least in this area, has gained a whole new respect. For the so-called evangelicals, formerly deemed dangerous nuisances, are now looked upon with keen interest and growing respect!

Do you believe God can do this sort of thing? I do. He did it in Jerusalem back in the days of the Book of Acts. He has done it repeatedly since in all kinds of cultures and times. So yes, he can do it, and he can do it right here.

At the human level, this sort of remarkable sea change can come about when God’s peoples “devote” themselves to “the apostles’ teaching and fellowship.” And that is a big reason why I encourage you to register for The Gospel

Coalition Conference, which takes place here at Stone Hill on Friday evening and Saturday.

  • The conference focus is on how you and I, God’s people, can live as     shining lights in the midst of difficult times. Think the Jerusalem church in Acts 2.
  • Its design, Friday evening and Saturday morning/afternoon, is compact, providing maximum benefit in a brief time.
  • Its impact includes things like hope and direction, how to live as God’s church and be his glory and light in our time and our place.
