The kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.
Adult Ed: “The Grand Narrative of Scripture” Although it spans more than 2,000 years, Scripture tells one unified story from Genesis to Revelation, culminating in the person of Jesus Christ. The Bible is the story of God, the world, and the meaning of history. To paraphrase C. S. Lewis, Christianity is the story that makes sense of all the other stories – that makes sense of our world. This fall we will begin examining that story from Creation, to Abraham, to Sinai, to the Kings, to Israel's Exile, to rebuilding of the Temple by exploring key passages of the Old Testament each week. From Genesis to Malachi we will ask ourselves: what is the unified story the Bible tells us? Where is it all leading? And how does that story shape our stories now? This class starts Sunday, September 9 at 9:30 a.m. in the Library, is led by Jim Neumann, and will be followed in the spring by Part 2: The Grand Narrative of Scripture – New Testament.
