1 Timothy 2:1-7
Discussion Questions
Three general questions for digging deeper:
- What does this text teach us about God?
- What does this text teach us about ourselves?
- If this text is true, what should we do to obey this teaching?
Questions specific to the October 26 sermon from 1 Timothy 2:
- Is it hard for you to pray for our civic leaders? Why or why not?
- Is it hard for you to pray for the people who are over you in business? Academia? School?
- According to this passage (1 Timothy 2:1-7), there is a benefit or purpose for praying for our leaders. What is that benefit or purpose?
- What other gospel purposes are mentioned in conjunction with prayer for our leaders?
- If you kept a timer on your activities, how much time are you worried, upset, and complaining about your leaders compared with the time you spend praying for them?
- Have you ever prayed for a leader and then sent them a note letting them know you are grateful for them and are praying for them?
