The Gospel of John at Work

Taught by Bob Doll | Sanctuary

Using material from the Theology of Work Project (TOW) and the Public Reading of Scripture (PRS), we will examine six portions of John’s Gospel (as we did with Genesis a few years ago). The goal is that every Christian will be better equipped and committed for work (paid or unpaid) as God intends.

A Biblical Approach to Mental Health

Taught by Andrew Zakhari & Lindsei Luciano | Harris Hall

The Bible teaches us that sin’s effects on this world cause tremendous suffering, which includes both physical and mental distress. God called us to be compassionate and to bear with one another, instead, often there is stigma associated with mental illness in the church. Our goal with this class is to understand what the Bible has to say about mental health and mental illness, and grow in wisdom and compassion in ways that we talk and address this topic for ourselves and in the lives of others.

5 Major Themes from 5 Old Testament Books

Taught by Chris Sallade | Adult Education Room (No class on May 5)

Come explore 5 important biblical themes through the lens of 5 different books of the Old Testament. We will dive into one book/theme each week together. Teacher will provide the main contours of each book and theme, as the class interacts together over the texts and applies each theme to our lives as well.

May 12 – Forgiveness (Leviticus)

May 19 – Suffering (Job)

May 26 – Meaning (Ecclesiastes)

June 2 – Love (Jonah)

June 9 – Judgment (Habakkuk)

Members and/or regular attenders of Stone Hill are welcome to attend if they bring a friend who is considering following Christ, as the focus of the facilitator will be on engaging our curious friends in discussion.
